| Field notes | Solitary tree palm. Stem to 15m tall, ca. 30 cm diam., brown, obscurely ringed with scars. Leaves ca. 15 in crown; leafbases to 1m, densely covered in brown indumentum, fibrous along the margins. Leaf to 4m long; petiole 50cm; leaflets ca.60 on each side of the rachis, regularly arranged, dark green, porrect. Inflorescence staminate, ca. 1.5m long, branching to 2 orders; bracts 5, the longest to 1.5m long. Flowers very small, cream-colored, fragrant |
