| Field notes | Solitary rotan climbing to 10 m. Stem without sheaths to 2 cm, yellowish nottled reddish brown. Internodes 10 cms. Leaf sheaths yellowish green covered with slightly upward pointing black spines. Leaf to 2.5 m, cirrus 1 m., petiole to 20 cms yellowish green with horizontal spines near base and scattered spines throughout 57 pairs of stiff regular narrow leaflets to 25 cm long. Infl. arching to 30 cm only ripe fruits yellowish brown, dull, feiribly astringent but sweet |
