| Field notes | Small undeerstory palm. Solitary. Stem green, 23 cm long, 1.1-1.5 cm in diameter, internodes 0.5-1.5 cm long. Small stiltroots at base. Leaves simple and bifid. 6 leaves in the crown. All secondary veins prominent above and to a lesser extent below. Ca. 1 cm between the secondary veins. Veins glabrous. Morphometry of lowest leaf: rachis 29 cm long; lamina split for 1/3 of length (while 1/2 for most leaves). Morphometry of longest leaf: sheath 10 cm long, basal 2.5 cm closed; petiole 22 cm long; rachis 21 cm long; lamina 16 cm wide at apex of rachis; lamina bifid for 1/2 og its length. 4 green spicate inflorescences in axil of 3rd leaf from above. Brown old spikes are present in axil of 4th leaf from above. |
