| Field notes | Small understory palm. Solitary. Stem yellow-brown, ca. 0.5 m tall and varying between 1.3-1.7 cm in diameter. 10 leaves in the crown. The leaves are simple, bifid. The secondary veins protrude alternately above and below. The rachis and the prominent veins below are yellow-brownish tomentose abaxially. Leaf sheath open. Morphometric data oof a mid-leaf: sheath + petiole is 28 cm long; the rachis is 46 cm long; lamina bifid for a third of its length; blade 22 cm broad at rachis apex (measured perpendicularly to rachis). |
