| Locality | "Ilha de São Luís". The island, formely covered by forests, nowadays shows mainly low secondary vegetation ("Capoeira") and srhubby open places. Tha "Babassu-palm" (Orbignya martiana) is a prominent element, especially in seconday growth. Along water course Euterpe oleracea ("Assai-palm") and Mauritia flexuosa ("Buriti-palm") are common. This stand: "Maioba", 14 km E of the city. "Capoeira" and open places. |
