| Field notes | On ridge in hill dipterocarp forest, climber ca 20 m long. Unarmed part of item about 6 m long, prickly part ca 14 m long. Leaves each green 1.10 m Long, with prickly rachis; petiole ca 40 cm, about 26 segments in all; leaf segments ca 38 by 2 cm in central part of rachis. A whip-like, spiny tendril issuing from the right side of the leaf sheath. With 4 inflorescences in all. Inflorescence terminal; once branched, branches alternate, distichous and curved; ovary green, stamens white, stigmas light green. 6 March, 1991.
