Field notes Young individual. Young leaves are all green and have green leave sheets. Uses: The shoot is eaten as a vegetable, it has a pleasant taste and is quite popular according to my informant. The flower may be eaten as a vegetable, but is not very popular - people prefer to eat the flower from the cultivated Musa varieties. Fiber, inferior, leave sheets are split and used for roofing. Name in Kelabit language: Ubud Po´oh.
