| Field notes | " Small tree about 1 m. tall. The root is orange like a carrot and has a bitter taste. Uses: Medicinal, the root is considered to be very effective against all sorts of stomach problems like diarrhoa and ulscer, high blood pressure and as antidote for poisoning with from the leaves of ""lemuan"" Gelsemium elegans. The skin of the root is removed, then the root is scrabed and the decoction from this is drunk. Name in Kelabit language: Semawar /Temawar kedayan." |
