| Field notes | Semi herbaceous bushy herb up to half a meter tall. Grows wild in swiddens, but not in the quantities desired. Few household have now started to cultivate it. Flowers creamish white with yellow anthers. Mature fruits bright red. Uses: Leaves are cooked and eaten as vegetable, light bitter taste, popular. Name in Kelabit language: Kerid Pait. |
