| Field notes | A robust ginger some 4 m. tall. Peeled shoots are white in colour and not so strong aromatic smelling. Cultivated of few people in Pa Dalih as it is rare in the forest. Uses: Shoots are eaten raw or cooked as vegetable. Fruit edible. Before people used the fiber from the stem to make small baskets, mats etc. Name in Kelabit language: Tubuh Nanung. |
