| Field notes | Schrub some 1 1/2 m. tall. Very common. Pink flowers. Black fruits. Uses: Fruit edible, very tasty. Medicinal, young shoots and leaves against toothache (must be mixed with leaves of Justicia gendarussa), leaves used for tea against stomachache and diareea (must be mixed with leaves from Daun Ipung., Buah Lipu and Udo Bulau) and the flowers are good to roob on the skin to fight itchy bites from insects. Name in Kelabit language: Sekali. |
