| Field notes | Woody liana with leathery leaves. Flowers, see photo and spirit collection. Uses: Medicinal plant: Against various stomach problems. The root is sliced and boiled and the tea is drunk. If the sliced root is mixed with sliced roots of Cinnamomum sp (H.C. 243) and Cinnamomum javanicum (H.C. 252) in 1:1:1 and boiled and then the tea will be much more effective, but this should not be drunk by pregnant women as this can cause abortion. Intake of this mixture has been used on purpose to provoke abortion and it is said that if a woman drinks a glass of the tea three times a day in three weeks she will never be able to be pregnant again.
