| Field notes | Scrub with green internodes. Uses: Medicinal, the leaves are pounded and applied on wounds. Against toothache: Young leaves and shoots are mixed with young leaves and shoots of Melastoma malabathricum and pounded, a little wine is added and the mixture is kept in the mouth for a while - it stops the pain. Religious, in connection with rice harvest ceremonies. Name in Kelabit language: Patunib Bata. |
