Field notes Climbing vine with white latex. Uses: Medicinal, against high blood pressure, diarrea and other stomach problems: A tea is made from the leaves and is drunken. Also against "Kimo" a skindisease: the leaves are crushed and rubbed on the affected part. Component in dart poison: The leaves are crumbled and softened over the fire. They are then squeezed and a yellowish juice which is extracted are mixed with the dart poison (latex from Antiaris toxicaria) to give it the correct consistency. Name in Kelabit language: War Peretar.
