Field notes Palm without thorns some 10 m. tall. Leaves with around 60 pair of leaflets, > 5 m. long leaves. Uses: Sago can be extracted from the trunk. Edible palm shoot. The fruit is edible. Host for edible worms. The leaves are good roofing material, lasts for around 7 years. The fibrous inside of the leaf sheats are good for caulking boats. The "bark" of the leaf sheats may be used for plaiting baskets. Name in Iban language: Mulong Lamus.
