Fibrous woody liana. Uses: Fibre, for binding of constructions, for sholder straps for baskets etc. This is the strongest of all the various kind of Kemedu. Religious, at Gawai is the ceremonial constructions always tied with fibre of Kemedu. The water from the liana is drinkable. Name in Iban language: Akar Kemedu Benan.
