| Field notes | Herb some 2-2.5 m. tall. Uses: Stimulant, the leaves may be chewed as they are or they may be dried in the sun, cut and smoked as tobacco, but today most people buy tobacco from town. Religious, however, at ceremonies it is still important that the tobacco that are presented on the offering plates are from Semakau rolled in young leaves of Gentu (Musa sp.)Name in Iban language: Semakau. |
