| Field notes | Tree some 13 m tall. Will end up being more than 1 m. dbh. Uses: Timber tre, planks and boats. Especially good for purposes where it gets wet, as it can last for many years in wet places, briges etc. Last for more than 20 years as housepost. Also good for firewood. Fruit edible but sour, they are hard eeven when ripe but they become soft and good after soaking overnight in water. The young shoots are edible as cooked vegetable. Name in Kelabit language: Toar. |
