| Field notes | Aromatic smelling rhizomes, leaves are tasteless. Uses: Medicinal, as an antidote against snake bites, scorbion bites etc.: The bitten area is kept in the smoke from the burning rhizomes as long as one can stand it. Medicinal to cure sick chickens. Pesticide, the burning of rhizomes in the field keeps the insects away. Perfume, the rhizome is an ingrediens in several perfume mixtures. Name in Iban language: Kemuyang. |
