| Field notes | Uses: Poisonous, for "Tuba-fishing", the young shoots are pounded and boiled in a bamboo container, the liquid is then mixed with some sticky rice left over from tuak brewing and sometimes ants is added - fish likes to eat this. The poisonous rice and ants are added to a stream and the fish who eat this die. Name in Iban language: Pengangat. |
