Field notes Woody liana. Reddish sticky sap. Uses: The fruit is edible after soaking overnight in water and boiled for one hour, but there is a taboo on the fruit, so it can not be taken to the longhouse. Religious, the bark is burnt to keep evil spirits away. Name in Iban language: Akar Belum.
