| Field notes | Woody lianaUses: Poisonous, used for "Tuba-fishing". The pounded root is added to a small stream and the fish become stunned. Lechee repellant, the pounded root paste are smeared on the skin, but not so popular as it is quite poisonous and very painful to get in the eyes and mouth. Medicinal, against pancrease, 7 young leaves is softened over the fire and applied as a bandage on the painfull spot. Name in Iban language: Tubai Akar/Tubai Amat. |
