| Field notes | Rattan with 25-30 cm. between the internodes. 6 -7 pair of leaflets evenly distributed over the 80-100 cm. "leaf plate". Uses: The fibre is good for plaiting of baskets and blankets and also for construction of chicken houses and fish traps. The shoot is said to be deadly poisonous to eat. Name in Iban language: Wee Matar. |
