| Field notes | The rhizome is reddish and very aromatic smelling. The base of the petioles are reddish Uses: Medicinal, as an antidote against snake bites, scorbion bites etc.: The bitten area is kept in the smoke from the burning rhizomes as long as one can stand it. Medicinal to cure sick chickens. Pesticide, the burning of rhizomes in the field keeps the insects away. Perfume, the rhizome is an ingrediens in several perfume mixtures. Name in Iban language: Kemuyang (Kekura). |
