| Field notes | Stem solitary, erect from an often decumbent base, ca 3-4 ft high and 1/2 in. thick, glossy, dark green, closely ringed. Spadices interfoliar, erect, orange, the fruit immature. Leaves entire or variously divided with an entire flabellum. |
