| Field notes | Stoloniferous, forming colonies up to 25 ft. in diam. of one sex and flowering simultaneously. Canes very slender to 3 ft. high or rarely slightly more with few leaves at summit. Leaves deep green above, slightly paler and glossy below. Rachis pale-backed. Spadices infrafoliar, males 2-several branched, thickish, pale green with bright orange flowers. Female spadix thickish, light green with bright orange cucullate petals, single or mostly bifurcate, spadix thick, bright orange with black globose fruit. ca. 7-8 m diam. and sunken in aveolae when ripe. |
