| Field notes | Stems solitary or late suckering with 2-3 small stems, to 14 ft. high 1 1/2 in diam. Leaves ca,. 20 in open spreading umbrella-like coma. Crownshaft not developed, pinnae grey-green above, pale below, “shaft” 18 in. long, stem brown, or with a gray coat of lichens. Spadices up to 6, erect in bud, pendant in fruit, brown, fruit yellow when immature, black when ripe, scarcely fleshy. Not uncommen, also seen between La Virgen and Corazon de Jesus but there plants in exposed situation with smaller leaves |
