| Field notes | Caespitose with 4 -15 or more erect, ringed, brownish or lichenous stems somewhat leaning in age, to 25 ft. or more high, 1 1/2 - 2 in ches thick. Leaves 10 - 15 in an erect-spreading coma, usually with 3 broad divisions and often a few uninervate segments interspersed, variable in this regard but more or less uniform in general aspect. Sheath not closed. Spadices infrafoliar, orange at maturity, thickened with blue-black globose fruit 13 - 14 mm diám., the mesocarp thin, purplish, fleshy. Spadices 1 - 3 per stem. No. 6534 appears to differ from this only in the more dissected leaf. |
