| Field notes | Trunk erect with spiny stilt roots to ca. 6 ft. high, 50 to 60 ft. tall, 6 inches DBH, brown, ringed. Spadix infrafoliar, pendulous, spathes deciduous, rachillae 12 to many, immature fruit green ellipsoid, 2.5 x 3 cm. Leaf with petiole 8 in. long, rachis 7 ft. long, pinnae 19-20 per side, rachis green with tan tomentum below, brown tomentose above. Pinnae inserted on rachis, dissected, the lower 2 entire, the segments in several planes, green above, veins yellow, opposite and regulary arranged. Sheat pale green, slender, closed, ca. 4 ft. long |
