Field notes Single stemmed with canes 8 ft. or sometimes more. Leaves few, spreading, pinnae dark green above and below, in groups of 2-4 along the rachis, not all in same plane petiole grooved above, rounded below from a closed sheath. Male spadices infrafoliar but from old sheats, erect or spreading with more or less pendulous rachillae. Flowers yellow-green on green spadix closed at apex where seen and slit on sides. Female spadices erectish with erect, stiff rachillae, green flowers, on green rachillae. Fruit globose, black. "Kiba".
