| Field notes | Colonial understory palm. Liana. Stem 1 m long, 1 cm thick; internodes 3 cm long, > stem diameter, smooth. Roots few visible. Leaves 7 per stem; sheath 14 cm long, open, with 1 cm long black spines; petiole 4 cm long, section margined; rachis 45 cm long, with 3 cm long brown spines; lamina entire, bifid, 60 cm long, 15 cm wide, flat, glabrous. Infructescence interfoliar. Silica gel sample taken. Transect: HB 476, subunit no. 68, inside transect |
