| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Acaulecent. Roots 25 visible, 3 cm long. Leaves 15; sheath 30 cm long, open; petiole 53 cm long; rachis 60 cm long; lamina pinnate, 84 cm long, 43 cm wide, flat, glabrous; pinnae 4-5 per side, insertion regular; basal pinna 33 cm long, middle pinna 34 cm long, apical pinna 30 cm long. Infructescence interfoliar; prophyll 19 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, papery; peduncular bract 26 cm long, inserted 10 cm from base, brown, papery; peduncle 84 cm long, 0.5 cm wide; spike 24 cm long, 1 cm wide.
