| Field notes | Cespitose understory palm. Liana. Stem 6.5 m long, 0.5 cm wide, smooth. Leaves 22 per stem; sheath 14 cm long, closed, with 1 cm long brown spines; petiole 3 cm long, section margined, with 3 mm long brown spines; rachis 65 cm long, with 0.5 cm long brown spines; lamina pinnate, 30 cm long, 25 cm wide, flat, glabrous; pinnae 6 per side, insertion regular; basal pinna 9 cm long, middle pinna 17 cm long, apical pinna 13 cm long. Infructescence interfoliar; prophyll 6 cm long, 0.4 cm wide, papery; peduncular bract 21 cm long, inserted 7 cm from base, brown, papery; peduncle 11 cm long, 0.1 cm wide; rachis 8 cm long, 0.1 cm wide; rachillae 5 per rachis, 0.5-3 cm long.
