| Field notes | Cespitose understory palm. Liana. Stem 30 m long, smooth, green. Base of stem with few visible roots. Leaves 23 per stem; sheath closed; petiole 2 cm long, section margined, with 2 mm long black/yellow spines; rachis 76 cm long, with 3 mm long black spines; lamina pinnate, 44 cm long, 29 cm wide, bushy, glabrous; pinnae 6 per side; basal pinna 13 cm long, middle pinna 14 cm long, apical pinna 11 cm long. Infructescence interfoliar; prophyll 8 cm long, 4 mm wide, papery; peduncular bract 12 cm long, inserted 10 cm from base, brown; peduncle 18 cm long, 1 mm wide; rachis 19 cm long, 1 mm wide; rachillae 4 per rachis, 2.5-4 cm long.
