| Field notes | Solitary midstory palm. Stem 15.6 m high; internodes 13-15 cm long, smooth. Stilt roots 22, 76 cm long, 4.4 cm wide, with 0.1 cm long spines. Crownshaft present, 93 cm long. Leaves 8 per stem; leaf sheath closed; petiole 30 cm long, section round; rachis 162 cm long; lamina pinnate, 167 cm long, 117 cm wide, flat, glabrous; pinnae 15 per side, insertion regular; basal pinna 30 cm long, middle pinna 69 cm long, apical pinna 26 cm long. Infructescence infrafoliar; prophyll 7 cm long, 5 cm wide; peduncular bract 19+ cm long, brown; peduncle 12 cm long, 3.5 cm wide; rachis 9 cm long, 2.3 cm wide; rachillae 9 per rachis, 28-32 cm long. Fruits 3 cm long, 2 cm wide, light to dark green. Silica gel sample taken. Transect: HB 449, subunit no. 57, outside transect |
