| Field notes | Canopy palm. Stem 13 m long, 14-17 cm thick. Crownshaft 1.6 m long. Leaves 19; leaf sheath 1.6 m long, closed; petiole 7 cm long, section margined; lamina pinnate, glabrous; rachis 3.1 m long; pinnae 84 per side, regularly inserted, pendulous; basal pinna 65 cm long, middle pinna 130 cm long, apical pinna 60 cm long. Inflorescence infrafoliar; prophyll woody, 110 cm long, 18 cm wide; peduncular bract yellow-cream, woody; peduncle 7 cm long, 8 cm wide; rachis 55 cm long, 2-6 cm wide; rachillae 127.
