| Field notes | Solitary understory palm with few visible roots. Acaulescent. Leaves 5 per stem; leaf sheath 3.5 cm long, open; petiole 25 cm long, section round; rachis 25 cm long; lamina pinnate, 40 cm long, 25 cm wide, glabrous; pinnae 4 per side, regularly inserted; basal pinna 22 cm long, middle pinna 23 cm long, apical pinna 18 cm long. Inflorescence interfoliar; peduncular bract 10 cm long, inserted 12 cm from base, cream, papery; peduncle 25 cm long, 0.5 cm wide. Flowers cream.
