Field notes Cespitose understory palm. Stems 4, 1.39-3 m long, 0.6-1 cm thick, apical part covered by leafbases, smooth at base; internodes 3-17 cm long, green. Leaves 2-5 per stem; sheath closed, 9.5-16 cm long; petiole 7.5-16 cm long, section margined; rachis 19-34 cm long; lamina pinnate, 23-38 wide, 24-47 cm long, flat, glabrous; pinnae 10-12 per side, insertion regular, basal pinna 10.5-24 cm long, middle pinna 11-24.5 cm long, apical pinna 9-14 cm long. Inflorescences 6, infrafoliar; prophyll 0.6-1 cm long, 0.5-0.6 cm wide, papery; peduncular bracts 2-3, 2-2.5 cm long, inserted 0-0,8 cm from base, brown, papery; peduncle 4-4.5 cm long, 0.5 wide; rachis 2-5.5 cm long, 0.3 cm wide; rachillae 8-10 per rachis, longest 6-13 cm, shortest 4-8 cm.
