| Field notes | Solitary canopy palm. Stem 8.55 m high, 18-26 cm thick, rough, brown; internodes 2.5-19 cm long. Leaves 18; leafsheath open, splits in the middle, petiole + sheath 179-185 cm long, petiole section margined; costa 67-80 cm long; lamina palmate, 255 cm long, 257 cm wide, flat, glabrous; segments 46 per leaf, 140 cm long, each segment consist of 2-3 pinnae, segments are fused for the first 40 cm, pinnae are fused for the first 80 cm. Inflorescence 6, interfoliar; prophyll 23-28 cm long, 7-9 cm wide, herbaceous to woody; peduncular bracts 6-8, 29-39 cm long, inserted 10 cm from base, green, herbaceous to woody; peduncle 110 cm long, 4 cm wide; rachis 220 cm long, 0.5-3 cm wide; rachillae 20-21 per rachis, 15-120 cm long, branched one time.
