| Field notes | Solitary, midstory to canopy palm. Roots many, in rootcone, 10-44 cm long, 0.2-0.4 cm thick, with rootspines 0.5-4.5 cm long. Stem 5.13 m long, 6.5-9 cm thick, covered by spines; internodes not visible. Leaves 14 fresh ones and 6 withered; sheath open; petiole 101-146 cm long, section margined; lamina palmate, circular, 127-137 cm diam., flat, glabrous, Infructescence interfoliar; peduncle 34-41 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide; rachis 25-29 cm long, 1 cm wide; rachillae 17-19 per rachis, 2-15 cm long.
