Field notes Cespitose understory palm. Stem 1.48 m long, 0.8 cm wide, smooth; internodes 3.5 cm long, green. Leaves 4 per stem; sheath closed; petiole 6-14 cm long, section margined; rachis 30 cm long; lamina pinnate, 32 cm wide, 42 cm long, flat, glabrous; pinnae 9 per side, insertion regular, basal pinna 17 cm long, middle pinna 19 cm long, apical pinna 14 cm long. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 1 cm long, 0.7 cm wide, papery; peduncular bract 4 cm long, inserted at base, brown, papery; peduncle 3 cm long, 0.5 cm wide; rachis 0.4 cm long, 0.7 cm wide; rachillae 3-4 per rachis, longest 8.5-11 cm, shortest 5-8.5 cm.
