Field notes Cespitose understory palm. Stem 3.1 m long, 0.8 cm thick, smooth, green; internodes 10 cm long. Leaves 5 per stem; sheath closed, 13 cm long; petiole 11 cm long, section margined; rachis 30.5 cm long; lamina pinnate, 28 cm wide, 37 cm long, flat, glabrous; pinnae 11 per side, insertion regular, basal pinna 16 cm long, middle pinna 17.5 cm long, apical pinna 7.5 cm long. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 1 cm long, 0.3 cm wide, papery; peduncular bract 3 cm long, inserted at base, brown, papery; peduncle 4 cm long, 0.3 cm wide; rachis 2 cm long, 0.3 cm wide; rachillae 8 per rachis, 4.5 - 8 cm long.
