Field notes	Cespitose understory palm. Stem 3 m high, 1 cm thick, smooth; internodes 11 cm long, green. Leaves 5 per stem; sheath 14 cm long, closed; petiole 7 cm long, section margined; rachis 25 cm long; lamina pinnate, 37 cm long, 32 cm wide, flat, glabrous; pinnae 9 per side, insertion regular, basal pinna 18 cm long, middle pinna 18 cm long, apical pinna 13 cm long. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 2 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, papery; peduncular bract 4 cm long, inserted at base, brown, papery; peduncle 3.5 cm long, 0.5 cm wide; rachis 1.5 cm long, 0.5 cm wide; rachillae 5 per rachis, 9-10 cm long.
