| Field notes | Cespitose palm. Stem 257 cm long, 8 cm thick, covered by leaf bases; internodes very short < stem diameter. Leaf sheath 27 cm long, closed; petiole 59.5 cm long, section margined, with spines, 0.3 cm long, brown; lamina palmate, 72 cm wide, 54 cm long, flat, glabrous. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 30,5 cm long, 2.5 cm wide, herbaceous; peduncular bract 40 cm long, inserted 8 cm from base, green, herbaceous; peduncle 59 cm long, 1.5 cm wide; rachis 81 cm long, 1 cm wide; rachillae 8 per rachis, 9-17 cm long.
