| Field notes | Cespitose palm. Stem 170 cm long, 7 cm thick, covered by leaf bases; internodes very short < stem diameter. Leaves 8 per stem; sheath closed; petiole 27 cm long, section margined, with spines, 0.3 cm long, green; lamina palmate, 63 cm wide, 40 cm long, flat, glabrous. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 6+ cm long, 2 cm wide, herbaceous; peduncular bract 32 cm long, brown, herbaceous; Peduncle 38+ cm long, 1 cm wide; rachis 27 cm long, 0.8 cm wide; rachillae 4 per rachis, 9-13 cm long.
