Field notes	Cespitose understory palm. Stem 1.87 m long, 1 cm thick, smooth; internodes 10 cm long, green. Leaves 6 per stem; leaf sheath 14 cm long, closed; petiole 16 cm long, section margined; rachis 48 cm long; lamina pinnate, 32 x 52 cm, flat, glabrous; pinnae 12 per side, insertion regular, basal pinna 18 cm long, middel pinna 19 cm long, apical pinna 8 cm long. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 1 cm long, 0.3 cm wide, papery; peduncular bract 2 cm long, brown, papery; peduncle 4.5 cm long, 0.4 cm wide; rachis 1 cm long, 0.4 cm wide; rachillae 3 per rachis, 7.5 - 10.5 cm long.
