| Field notes | Solitary midstory palm. Stem 5 m tall, 3 cm in diameter, covered by brown, spiny hairs; internodes 12 cm long. Leaf sheath 35 cm long, forming a 35 cm long crownshaft; petiole 32 cm long; rachis 90 cm long, sheath, petiole and rachis with brown hairs; lamina pinnate; pinnae per side 8, more or less regularly inserted, basal pinna 14 cm long, middle pinna 48 cm long, apical pinna 33 cm long. Inflorescence infrafoliar; prophyll 38 cm long, 2 cm wide; peduncular bract 22 cm long, inserted 34 cm from base, brown; peduncle 46 cm long, 0.9 cm thick, yellow-green; rachis 6.5 cm long, 1 cm wide, yellow-green; rachillae 11, 16.5-18 cm long.
