| Field notes | Cespitose understory palm. Stem 1.5 m tall, 0.5 cm in diameter, smooth, green; internodes 8 cm long. Number of leaves 5; leaf sheath 10 cm long, closed; petiole 8 cm long, margined; rachis 23 cm long; lamina pinnate, flat; pinnae inserted in groups of 1-3, basal pinna 10 cm long, middle pinna 18 cm long, apical pinna 17 cm long. Infructescence interfoliar; peduncular bract 9 cm long, inserted 12 cm from base, brown; peduncle 33 cm long, 0.6 cm thick, green; rachis 2 cm long, 0.5 cm thick, green; rachillae 5, 10-13 cm long, orange. Fruits ellipsoid, red. HB transect no. 402, subunit 2. |
