| Field notes | Liana. Cespitose. Stem 2 m long, 1.5 cm in diameter. Leaf sheath closed; ocrea 20 cm long, green with black spines to 5 cm long; petiole 7 cm long; rachis 66 cm long; cirrus 61 cm long; sheath, petiole and rachis with dark brown spines; lamina pinnate; pinnae 9 per side, more or less regularly inserted, in one single plane, basal pinna 16 cm long, middle pinna 20 cm long, apical pinna 18 cm long.
