| Field notes | Solitary understory palm. Acaulescent. Leaves 9; leaf sheath 11 cm long, open; petiole 47 cm long, margined; rachis 54 cm long; lamina pinnate; pinnae 4 per side, irregularly inserted, in one single plane, basal pinna 21 cm, middle pinna 30 cm, apical pinna 33 cm. Infructescence interfoliar; prophyll 13 cm long, 0.6 cm wide, papery; peduncular bract 14 cm long, inserted 1.8 cm from base, brown; peduncle 100 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, green; spike 14 cm long, 1.2 cm wide, orange. Fruits globose, black. HB transect 389, outside subunit 33. |
